Queer mom chats with queer guests about their families, but with gay...

Jaimie Kelton humorously explores the age-old question: What's it like to live as an LGBTQ family in a world built for the straights?

The mission is to normalize, elevate and celebrate, while confirming that we're just like other parents, trying not to yell at our kids when they still haven't put their shoes on and we're 25 minutes late for school.

"The Queer Family Podcast knows that sharing LGBTQ family stories is a vital way for LGBTQ folks to find community, information, and support, and for the wider world to learn about how we are both the same as and different from other families."

“As a gay mom who's been out in Hollywood for a long time, I know how much representation matters to all the queer families out there. This show gives us a chance to tell our stories with love, honesty, and humor. I started creating my family when coming out could ruin your career in show business. Things have changed a lot since then, but we've still got a long way to go. That's why shows like The Queer Family Podcast are so important. When Jaimie interviewed me about my family in 2019, I told her, "keep on telling these stories"—and she's done just that. I can’t wait to see how the new show takes our queer families’ story to the next level and a bigger audience!"

Louisiana Lesbian Couples Fight for Parental Rights in Landmark Case: How Outdated Laws Impact Us

Host Jaimie sits down with Megan, Taylor, and Jessica, three married lesbian non-bio moms fighting for legal recognition of their parental rights in Louisiana. They discuss the challenges they're facing in the legal system, the archaic "presumption of paternity" civil code 185 being used against them, and the impact it has on their families. The guests share their personal experiences and the uncertainty they face as non-biological parents. They also highlight the importance of second-parent adoption and the need for better legislation to protect LGBTQ+ families. This is an essential listen for anyone in the LGBTQIA community considering family life, as well as for allies seeking understanding and connection. Stay tuned for more enlightening content from the Queer Family podcast that celebrates, uplifts, and normalizes diverse family narratives. 🏳️‍🌈Thanks to Pregnant Together, and our Patreon supporters. 🏳️‍🌈Interested in advertising? Meghan * “We have to sign on the father line on the birth certificate, just to add to it, add a kick in the gut.” - Jessica 🏳️‍🌈About The Guest(s)🏳️‍🌈 * Megan, Taylor and Jessica are residents of Louisiana and members of the LGBTQ+ community.
